Fun Games for Adults with Pool Floats

Water games are great outdoor activities on hot summer days, as well as for picnics and camps. These games are fun for every age but more suitable for people who can swim without help. With your giant pool floats, you can have a fun and very memorable time in the water.

Here are some of the most fun games you can enjoy with your pool floats:

Float Tag

  • What you will need:

Some giant pool floats for each player.

  • How to play:

This classic game is played in a pseudo-slow motion with everyone dragging their pool floats for adults through the pool. One person will be designated as ‘It’ and will try to touch the players. Meanwhile, the players will be trying their best to make sure they are not touched.

While trying to elude capture, they will be trying to make it back to other safety pool floats for adults. The last survivor will be the ‘it’ in the next round.

Floatie Race

  • What you will need:

Two or more players; and any pool float that is big enough to sit on. You can use pool noodles, loungers, tubes, inflatable dolphins, or other giant pool floats.

  • How to play:

This game is quite like the beach ball race which is common at pools. The more ridiculous your pool floats, the better. To play, all the players will line up on their pool floats for adults at the edge of the pool.

On “go”, each player tries to get across the pool while sitting on his floatie and paddling with their hands. The first person to get to the end of the pool on his pool float wins.

Game of Ducks

  • What you will need:

Not less than 3 rubber ducks and not less than 3 players

  • How to play:

The players will start at each end of the pool, each with his floating rubber duck. Each player will climb his rubber duck and have to take it to the other end of the pool. To make this game trickier, the players will have to push the duck with their nose alone.

The hands are not to be used unless they are used to splash other players in order to distract them. Also, the first person to reach the end without cheating is the winner.

Jump and Dive

  • What you will need:

A pool raft

  • How to play:

In this ‘Jump and dive’ game, the players will take turns jumping and diving off a float. Thus, this float will be placed in the middle of the pool, at the deep part. Furthermore, the raft is meant to make things more challenging because it is hard to stand on.

One person will be the judge to rate each dive and award points based on different factors. In addition, extra points may be awarded for factors like ‘best use of raft’, ‘height reached’, ‘best stunt’, ‘silliness’, etc.

Raft Races

  • What you will need:

Pool mats or Inflatable rafts; not less than two players to compete in a race

  • How to play:

This game is not a very difficult one, but it has a little twist added. The game involves racing your friends while on a floating raft. If you have two or more large floating rafts, you can play in teams with multiple people on each floater.

You could drop an item at the other end of the pool for each team to grab and return with. The first player that brings the object back to the start wins the race.

Raft relay on pool floats

  • What you will need:

Inflatable rafts, not less than two players to compete

  • How to play:

This is a fun way of spicing up your raft race. All players will be on their pool float. Tag some people at one end of the swimming pool to switch with their partners at the other end. The switch should happen when each person touches his partner at the other end.

Surfin’ USA

  • What you will need:

Pool floats that looks like a raft or any other float you can stand on. Also get a stopwatch or any other timer.

  • How to play:

This is a game of skill and balance that can be played in different ways depending your number of rafts. The players can then be divided into teams and then assigned to the giant pool floats. When someone says ‘Go’, a player from each team will climb aboard their raft.

Then they will stand up and fight until one person loses balance and falls off. The first person to lose balance and fall off the pool floats for adults loses the game. Other team players inside the pool will splash water around the person to make waves.

Finally, the last player standing gets a point for the team. Whichever team gets the most points wins.

Tennis on Pool Floats

  • What you will need:

A skip fun ball, a pool tennis table, and two players.

  • How to play:

The skip fun ball is a special kind of pool float ball that bounces in water. It is suitable for other bouncy games apart from tennis. Therefore, each person stands on opposite sides of the table and plays a game of tennis with the ball.

Whack-a-Wet-Mole

  • What you will need:

A pool noodle, and any pool float available

  • How to play:

A player will hold a pool noodle while other players will stand in front of him/her a few feet away. They will each stand at the shallow end and hold their pool floats in their hand for their buoyancy. Therefore, each player will continue to bob up and down, they will be dunking underwater then pop up again.

While doing this, the player that is holding the noodle will keep trying to gently whack them on the head. The last whacked player will be the mole hunter in the next round of the game.
